West Lafayette opened the tournament against the Bombers, who took them to overtime in the first game of the year. A slow first quarter saw the Red Devils trailing by a basket, 6-8. The press gave West Side an edge in the second and they carried a 16-13 lead into halftime. The third quarter was back and forth, but when it was time to win, Isla St. Hilaire and Meredith Andrew led offensively to a 34-25 victory. Andrew gave the Bombers fits all game, recording 6 steals while Kourtney Ajayi and Nolla Furry each added 3. Lucia Warden Torres contributed with 7 points and 6 rebounds. St. Hilaire led all scorers with 12 while Andrew finished with 9. The Red Devils' record on the year moves to 7-5. They will now face Benton Central in the semifinals on March 8.
