The Junior High cross country boys and girls teams won at City/County on Tuesday. The boys team finished in 1st place out of 15 teams with a team score of 45 points. While most times were a bit slow due to the mud, Alexander Burgess (5th place) came up with a personal best time of 10:59.98 - coming in under 11 minutes for the first time this season. This was good enough for him to place in a tie for 45th fastest time in our program's history. While Alexander had the only PR for the boys, Max Rodriguez Joshua Ciocoi, Elijah Pierce, Ian Gilbert, Cain Martens, and Ray Li competed well as they rounded out the varsity seven. Isaac Antalis and Edward Mascarenas each ran over a minute faster versus there time on the same course last year. The girls team finished in first place out of 12 teams. Emmy Gustus led the way with a strong performance and 2nd place finish of 12:04.36. This was a personal best for Emmy and placed her in 38th place in our program's history. Maddie Clampitt-Morales came in 6th place and was followed by strong performances by Ady Waggoner-McClain (14th), Vera Lundgren (15th), Ava Thompson (16th), Jillian Hanna (21st) and Ilkay Irfanoglu (37th).
