Led by a big night at the plate by Adrianne Tolen, the Red Devils scored 22 runs on 22 hits to beat Clinton Prairie 22-10. Dani Rawles got the start in the circle and allowed 7 runs on 8 hits. She earned the W and recorded 3 strikeouts. Izzy Ascarelli threw 3 innings of relief allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and recording 3 strikeouts. Helping her cause, Rawles went 3-4 at the plate with an RBI and a stolen base. She started the game with a lead off homer after battling back to a full count. Bree Johnson had 3 hits and a stolen base. Ellie Wilcoxson and Emma Orr each added 2 hits to the offensive firepower. The WL softball newcomers stepped up big when they got their chance, with Hajean Jun going 2-3 with 2 RBI and showing her versatility by playing both centerfield and second base. Marilyn Kealey had a hit and an RBI, Courtney Gretencord added a hit and stole 3 bases, and Anabelle Jackson added a hit and RBI. Sophomore Riya Shah got the WL fans amped with the little league home run that got the offense started. Tolen was a single away from hitting for the cycle, but she sure made up for it. She was walked in the first, hit a double in the second, and a home run in the 3rd that made it to the woods. Her fifth inning was the showstopper with a triple and home run number 2 both coming in the fifth. A seventh inning shot over the center field wall was home run number 3 and raised the RBI tally to 8 on the night.
