Boys and Girls Junior High Cross Country Win Conference

The boys and girls cross country teams swept the WCJC conference meet at Benton Central on Saturday. The boys finish if 1st place of 6 teams with a team score of 19 points and won for the third consecutive year. Jinsoo Choi is the boys WCJC individual champion coming in with a time of 10:43. Max Rodriguez came in 2nd with a time of 10:43 as well. The boys team had the first four finishers as Zak Koliantz and Alex Eriksson rounded out the top four runners. Other notable performers included Eric Tang with a 34 second PR with a time of 11:54, Matthew Sinfield with a 43 second PR with a time of 14:24, and Maximus Pynaert with a 1 minute and 15 second PR with a time of 15:53. The girls team won conference for the 4th consecutive year with a team score of 46 points. Erica Rogers (3rd), Emily Zhou (5th), and Ali Kalb (10th) finished in the top 10, with times of 11:47, 12:20, and 12:56 respectively. Rafa Moreno and Alexis Carroll rounded out the varsity with PRs of 48 and 33 seconds. Addy Polk ran her fastest race of the season coming in at 14:02.
