West Lafayette Jr-Sr High School

The 7th and 8th grade football teams traveled to Harrison High School to take on Klondike. Both teams came away with shutout victories on the night with the 7th grade winning 36-0 and the 8th grade winning 28-0. The 7th grade put together their best offensive performance of the season with several players scoring on the evening in Mason Wright, Chase Ostrem, and Alan Salazar. Touchdown passes were thrown by both quarterbacks Max Smosna and Oliver Cromwell. The defense put things together as well completing their 2nd shutout of the season limiting the Klondike offense all evening long. The 8th grade game was a battle early on and both sides played very physical. The Red Devils broke through on scoring twice in the 1st half leading at the break 14-0. The defense picked up the intensity and gave the offense opportunities with the passing game starting to pick up. Henry Umulis had 2 receiving touchdowns thrown by QB Blake Biddle and Kojo Steffey added to the scoring with rushing touchdowns. The defense continued the night with another shutout on the season. The defense is led up front by Josiah Lewis and Ryan Ritchie and at the linebacker position with Cal Elias putting in one of his best defensive performances of the season. The Red Devils take on the Benton Central Bison Thursday at Benton Central with the 7th grade up first on the evening.
