Junior High Cross Country at Rensselaer Invite

The Junior High cross country team had great success over four races on Saturday at the Rensselaer Invitational. 8th Grade Boys - 1st place of 10 teams. Archer Fry (3rd), Luca Reynolds (4th), Joe Doty (6th) and Ryan Kelley (19th) earned Top 20 medals. Archer, Luca and Joe also moved up on the Top 50 school record list. Arjun Vanamala set a personal record by one minute and 50 seconds with a time of 16:48.3 and Max Kean bested his time by one minute and 33 seconds with a team of 16:13.3. 7th Grade Girls - 1st place of 10 teams. Annah Stenberg (3rd), Aubrey Kalb (10th), and Macy Fordyce (12th) earned top 20 medals. Mikayla Cohen had a huge PR (48 seconds) to help seal the victory with a time of 13:51.9. Jiuriu Liu ran a personal best by almost three minutes with a time of 16:21.4 and Aurora Mentzer took a minute and 19 seconds off her previous best with a time of 21:48.8. 8th Grade Girls - 2nd place of 11 teams. Natalie Cuttell led the way earning a top 20 medal with 18th place with a time of 12:59.5. Priscilla Sansone (13:41.0) and Kaia Ursem (14:35.0) both rounded out the scoring to secure the 2nd place finish and had PR's of 41 seconds and one minute and 33 seconds, respectively. 7th Grade Boys - 2nd place of 10 teams. Ehan Qazi (2nd place), Grant Johnson (16th place), and Lucas Boesch (17th place) led the way with top 20 medals. Ethan Furst took off one minute and 17 seconds to set a new PR of 15:23.3 and Aaron Toms set a new PR of 19.16.0, which was 2 minutes and 34 seconds faster than his previous race. The team's next competition is at Lafayette Central Catholic on Thursday, 9/15.
