The girls overcame illness and a Friday evening Pitbull concert to snag fourth in the 26-team Harrison Invitational. Freshman Annie Dunford moved up about ten spots over the last mile to place ninth in a new lifetime best – 19:54. In program history, that time sits 37th all-time and is the 15th fastest 5K run by a freshman. Senior Krisha Shah (31st – 20:53) and junior Henny Schminke (40th – 21:27) were the team’s second and third finishers. The trio of junior Shannon Dineen (59th – 21:59), freshman Amelia Simpson (63rd – 22:07), and freshman Sarah Flesher (67th – 22:18) gained valuable big-meet experience as the team’s remaining varsity finishers. Sarah made the most of the varsity opportunity, cutting 34-seconds from her previous best. Top 5 Team Scores 1. Zionsville 40 2. Lake Central 86 3. Bloomington South 102 4. West Lafayette 194 5.
