Divers take on Hoosier Conference at Home

Divers from both the boys and girls teams took to the boards to open the 2024 Hoosier Conference Championships at the Richard Wachs Aquatics Center on Thursday, January 11. Three Red Devils represented West Lafayette High School, including Senior Captain Brendan Twomey for the boys team as well as sophomore Kynlee Dunbar and freshman Ace Tyrrell for the girls team. All three Red Devils put points on the board, with Twomey taking 5th place, while Tyrrell and Dunbar finished 4th and 7th respectively. Divers from Hamilton Heights were dominant on the boards, taking first place on the girls side by a margin of 33.05 and going 1-2 on the boys side with both Hamilton Heights divers breaking the previous conference record of 555.10. Hoosier Conference competition for the girls picks up again on Saturday, January 13 for the girls and Saturday, January 20 for the boys, when the swimmers get their turn on the blocks. Current team standings after diving are as follows: Girls: Northwestern (1st, 46pts), West Lafayette (2nd, 27pts), Rennselaer (3rd, 25pts), Hamilton Heights (4th, 20pts) Boys: Western (1st, 43pts), Hamilton Heights (2nd, 37pts), Northwestern (3rd, 22pts), West Lafayette (4th, 14pts), Twin Lakes (5th, 11pts)
