Boys Score: Red Devils 96, Broncos 88 The West Lafayette Red Devils Boys Swimming & Diving team hosted the Lafayette Jeff Bronchos on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. The team celebrated the Senior Class of 2024 during the last co-ed dual meet of the season. Leading the Red Devil squad were Junior Lucas Arnaldo and Chase Jordan with two event wins apiece. Arnaldo took the top spot in the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke, while Jordan led the pack in the 200 IM and the 100 Backstroke. Senior Captain Ben Mariner rounded out the top scorers for the evening with 12 points added to the team total, winning the 100 Butterfly and swimming on two second-place relays. The Red Devils also won 7 out of 12 events in total, including: - 200 Medley Relay: Jordan Chase, Lucas Arnaldo, Lincoln Miller, Zheng-Chi Lee - 200 IM: Chase Jordan - 50 Free: Lucas Arnaldo - 100 Butterfly: Ben Mariner - 500 Free: Jon Yang - 100 Backstroke: Chase Jordan - 100 Breaststroke: Lucas Arnaldo The Red Devils were strong in several events with 1-2 finishes in four events, including the 50 Freestyle (Arnaldo, Lee), 100 Butterfly (Mariner, Miller), 500 Freestyle (Yang, Ryan Miloudi), and the 100 Backstroke (Jordan, Miller). Senior Captain Brendan Twomey placed second in the diving and led off the 200 Freestyle B Relay. This Thursday (1/11) and next Saturday (1/20) the Red Devils open the start of championship season with Hoosier Conference Championships for divers on Thursday, January 11 and swimmers on Saturday, January 20. Hoosier Conference Championships will be held at our home pool, the Richard Wachs Aquatic Center.
