Red Devils Top Tigers on the Road

Girls Score: Red Devils 121, Tigers 58 The West Lafayette Red Devils Girls Swimming & Diving defeated the Lebanon Tigers on the road last night in their second dual meet of the season. Leading the Red Devil squad were Chloe Chen (JR) and Madeline Umulis (JR) with two individual event wins apiece. Chen took the top spot in the 200 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke, while Umulis led the pack in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly with a lifetime best of 1:08.67. In total, the Red Devils took the top spot in 8 out of 12 events of the evening including: -- 200 Medley Relay: Isabel Owens (JR), Mei Kihara (SO), Laurie Antalis (SR/Captain), Umulis -- Diving: Ace Tyrrell (FR) -- 100 Freestyle: Owens -- 500 Freestyle: Antalis -- 200 Freestyle Relay: Umulis, Owens, Lina Idrissi Alami (SR/Captain), Natalie Cuttell (FR) -- 400 Freestyle Relay: Antalis, Owens, Thenia Vlachos (JR), Chen The Red Devils had many strong performances throughout the evening, including 1-2 finishes in the 200 Freestyle by Chen and Tara Kim (FR), Diving by Tyrrell and Cailyn Cho (SO), 100 Fly by Umulis and Idrissi Alami, 500 Freestyle by Antalis and Juanita Rodriguez-Bravo (FR) and in the 200 Freestyle Relay, with the team of Sehr Siddiqui (JR), Kersten Steffey (JR), Teddy King (SR), and Sophia Vlachos (JR) securing the runner up finish. The Red Devils continue a busy week of competition on the road as we face Frankfort on Thursday, 11/30.
