10/9/26 West Lafayette Red Devils Vs. Tipton Blue Devils Location: West Lafayette Time: 7:30pm Final Score: 49-13 (West Lafayette) The Red Devils came ready to play Friday night, and it was evident from the onset. Mason Ersland met the Tipton running back at the line of scrimmage on the first offensive play for the visiting Blue Devils. Ersland forced a fumble, West Lafayette recovered, and the Red Devil offense took it from there. Blake Biddle, who was fiercely protected by his linemen throughout the game, methodically marched down the field, and ultimately handed the ball off to Chase Zhou, who dashed into the end zone for the first Red Devil touchdown. The Red Devils moved the ball with confidence and purpose all game long. Biddle connected with Tanner McPherson along the Red Devil sideline, and McPherson raced into the end zone for the second West Lafayette touchdown. The passing attacked continued, and Biddle connected with Fielder Melchi, who then outran the defense for a 42 yard score. Biddle and Melchi teamed up again for the fourth Red Devil touchdown. Andrew Pfeiffer got in on the scoring action, and received a well-placed ball from Biddle in the corner of the end zone. Biddle later connected with Braylon Crisp, who then forced his way through the Tipton defenders and crossed the goal line. Chase Ostrom took over the quarterback role in the fourth quarter, and raced into the end zone for the final Red Devil touchdown. Gio Pacheco added to the scoring with a field goal, as well as several extra points. In addition to all the scoring, the Red Devil defense was equally impressive keeping Tipton out of the end zone. The Red Devils continuously switched up the defensive look, which led to some great Red Devil opportunities. Levi Martin, Tyrel Lawson, and Ira Dobson flustered the Tipton offensive line all night, and Cal Elias delivered a hit on the Tipton running back that set the tone for the physicality of the game. Martin also forced an errant pass by the Tipton quarterback, and Pacheco swiped it out of the air for a Red Devil interception. Max Smosna tracked a Tipton pass and secured another interception for West Lafayette. Mason Ersland and Alan Salazar plugged the holes and halted many Tipton offensive drives, and the speedy Landess brothers pestered the Tipton receivers all night. This was a complete team effort, with many Red Devils stepping up and taking advantage of opportunities to help the team. The team will enjoy the remainder of fall break and begin preparing for next week's matchup against Hamilton Heights.
