10/2/26 West Lafayette Red Devils Vs. Lafayette Central Catholic Knights Location: Lafayette Central Catholic Time: 7:00pm Final Score: 31-26 (Lafayette Central Catholic) The Red Devils traveled across town to take on the Knights last Friday night. Unfortunately for the West Lafayette team, they were unable to maintain the same momentum from the previous week, and fell to the Knights 31-26. Despite the loss, the Red Devils fought until the end, and showed great potential. The Red Devil offensive line created numerous running opportunities for the backfield, which helped to open up the passing attack. Blake Biddle connected with Fielder Melchi and Andrew Pfeiffer for numerous passing gains, and Jack Grove, Chase Zhou, and Chase Ostrom moved the ball on the ground. The West Lafayette defense limited the Knights' steady ball movement, and if it weren't for a few big plays, the defense collectively played well. As usual, the Red Devils swarmed the ball carriers, and delivered big hits. Ira Dobson, Cal Elias, and Levi Martin pestered the Knights' offensive line all night, and forced the Central Catholic quarterback to get rid of the ball quickly. The Red Devil secondary disrupted numerous passing efforts, and even made a crucial interception that would have led to a Central Catholic touchdown. The Red Devils will return to the practice field as they prepare for Tipton. Come on out to Gordon Straley Field next Friday night for senior night, and cheer on the Red Devils. RDP!
