9/11/26 West Lafayette Red Devils Vs. Western Panthers Location: Western Time: 7:00pm Final Score: 29-28 (Western) The Red Devils and Panthers battled it out on Friday night. Despite trailing by two touchdowns, the Red Devils fought back and eventually took the lead late in the game. Gio Pacheco had an impressive onside kick early in the game that was recovered by the Red Devils. The Red Devils also displayed some trickery during a much needed two-point conversion, igniting the team’s spirit. Unfortunately, time expired, with the Red Devils losing by a single point. Offensively, the Red Devils displayed great promise. Kojo Steffey raced into the end zone multiple times, and he and the Red Devil offensive line punished the Panther defense. Blake Biddle connected with Fielder Melchi for some incredible plays and significant gains. Biddle also connected late in the game with Tanner McPherson and Braylen Crisp, who both made critical plays when the Red Devils needed them. The Red Devil defense was tested throughout the game. The tight Panther offensive formation created a challenge for the West Lafayette squad, however, the Red Devils were able to halt the Panther movement at critical points in the game, providing opportunities for the West Lafayette offense to take over. Onyx Shamo sniffed out many Panther offensive efforts, and the linebacking squad of Cal Elias, Steffey, and Mason Ersland solidified many tackles. The Red Devils will face off with Logansport at Gordon Straley Field on Friday night for a homecoming showdown. Come on out and cheer on the Red Devils!
