9/5/26 West Lafayette (JV) Vs. Lebanon Location: West Lafayette Time: 10:00am Final Score: 22-18 (Lebanon) On a hot day, the West Side junior varsity fought hard but fell short in Lebanon. The first quarter was a defensive tug of war with big plays from Jackson Winger and Blaine Myles on the defensive line. Quarterback Chase Ostrom scored the first points of the game on a 1 yard touchdown run. The Tigers responded with their own touchdown, but the extra point was blocked by Ellis Furry. The Red Devils gave up another score and went into halftime trailing 14-6. Keegan Slifer and Ostrom took snaps at quarterback in the second half and both threw touchdown passes to Mason Ersland in the third quarter. Those two Ersland scores pushed the visitors ahead by a score of 18-14. After giving up the lead, the defense responded on back to back drives. Cornerback Duke Elias and linebackers Cameron Kudelko and Ersland came up with big tackles for losses while Luke Tolen batted down a fourth down pass to give the Red Devils one more chance at a win. Unfortunately, they could not push the ball down the field for the winning score. The JV team is now 2-1 on the season.
