9/3/26 West Lafayette Red Devils Vs. Lebanon Tigers Location: West Lafayette Time: 7:00pm Final Score: 14-13 (Lebanon) In the midst of a late summer heat wave, the Red Devils and Tigers battled it out on Thursday night at Gordon Straley Field. This tense defensive battle culminated with a Lebanon victory, but despite that, the Red Devils displayed impressive grit and determination, and will make the adjustments for next week’s game at Western. Kojo Steffey provided spark once again to the West Lafayette running attack, and the offensive line protected Blake Biddle and opened holes for the running backs. In the first half, Andrew Pfeiffer received a pass from Biddle, and flew past the Lebanon defense for an impressive Red Devil touchdown. Biddle also connected with Fielder Melchi along the sideline, and Melchi stretched into the endzone for another remarkable score. Unfortunately for the Red Devils, they were unable to put any additional points on the board. Defensively, West Lafayette did its job! Ira Dobson and Levi Martin provided constant pressure to the Lebanon offense, resulting in numerous tackles for loss. The Red Devil secondary limited the Lebanon receivers, minimized significant gains, and consistently contributed to wrangling the Lebanon ball carriers. The linebacking crew also aided in halting many Lebanon drives. West Lafayette will head to Western for its next contest, and you can bet the Red Devils will be ready!
