8/21/26 West Lafayette Red Devils Vs. Harrison Raiders Location: West Lafayette Time: 7:30pm Final Score: 43-40 (Harrison) What a battle between the West Lafayette Red Devils and the Harrison Raiders to start off the 2026 football season! Although the Red Devils came up a few points short of a victory, the team performed well in many aspects of the game and will use this starting place to build the momentum for the remainder of the season. The Red Devil offensive line, consisting of Ryan Budzynski, Hollis Morrow, Cal Elias, Levi Martin, and Ryan Ritchie protected quarterback Blake Biddle, and allowed the powerful West Lafayette offense to generate substantial gains. Biddle connected with Fielder Melchi multiple times, leading to Melchi speeding into the endzone for two exciting touchdowns. Biddle also connected with Tanner McPherson in the corner of the endzone for another impressive score. Andrew Pfeiffer got in on the action, as well, after catching a pass from Biddle and racing away from the Harrison defense and into the endzone. Kojo Steffey managed the running tempo for the Red Devils, along with Biddle, and the two of them got into the endzone multiple times. Defensively for the Red Devils, the team tackling was remarkable, and with the exception of a few mistakes, the Red Devils managed the high powered Harrison offense. The defensive line, consisting of Elijah Martin, Tyrel Lawson, Levi Martin, and Ira Dobson fought relentlessly against the Raider offensive line, putting consistent pressure on the offense. Steffey and Elias managed the middle of the defense, while Joey Bae, Onyx Shamo, Gio Pacheco, Caleb Landess and Ethan Landess patrolled the secondary. The Red Devils came up short of a victory, but fought tenaciously until the very end. There is tremendous promise for this West Lafayette team, who has incredible talent, speed, grit, and team chemistry. As they continue to build on their strengths and improve where it’s necessary, the Red Devils will be a tough opponent. Up next, McCutcheon, and another great historic cross-town rivalry.
