West Lafayette Jr-Sr High School

The Junior High boys and girls teams both earned first place finishes at the Fountain Central Invitational on Tuesday. The boys team placed 1st of 10 teams with a score of 23 points. Ehan Qazi (2nd), Lucas Boesch (4th), Grant Johnson (5th), Kevin Liu (8th), Eric Yu (9th), Jinsoo Choi (11th), and Linden Xiang (13th) led the way in a boys race that held 116 total runners. Logan Lee, Theo Yang, Nathan Flesher, and Alex Liu all scored PR's by over 1 minute. The girls team placed in first place of 10 teams with a score of 30 points. Aubrey Kalb (2nd), Annah Stenberg (3rd), Katie Antalis (7th), Claire Kelley (9th), Hannah Reed (12th), Emily Zhou (19th), and Hayune Jun (21st) led the way for the girls race that had 79 runners. Addy Polk set a personal best by over 1 minute and Erica Rogers scored a big PR on Tuesday as well. The boys look to defend their Small School State title on Saturday and the girls are anxious to get on the podium at Lavern Gibson in Terre Haute.
