West Lafayette Jr-Sr High School

The Red Devils competed in the WCJC tournament on March 7 at Benton Central. In the semifinal game they faced off against Tecumseh, a team they had lost to in the regular season. The game was tight throughout with West Side trailing at half 18-20. A couple key runs in the second half gave them a slight edge, winning by a final of 39-34. The defense had 12 steals lead by Meredith Andrew with 3. Isla St. Hilaire was dominate in the paint, scoring 21 points to lead all scorers and pulling in 9 rebounds. Andrew contributed on the offensive end as well with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Other contributions came from Lucia Warden Torres with 3 points and 6 rebounds, Nolla Furry had 2 points and 5 rebounds and Nichole Ajayi also had 2 points with 4 rebounds. West Lafayette advanced to the championship game against host Benton Central. BC proved again to be a stout opponent and the Red Devils fell by a final score of 24-60. Warden Torres led her team with 8 points with St. Hilaire and Andrew adding 5 points each. Furry had 3 steals while Ajayi added 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Andrew worked hard in the paint to pull in 8 rebounds. The final season record for the Red Devils was 6-7.
