West Lafayette Swimming & Diving teams attending the Athenian Invitational in Crawfordsville, Indiana on January 24, 2026. This was the last regular season tune-up for the girls before we turn eyes toward Sectional Championship. The girls team was led in scoring by freshman Maddie Klinge (45.5pts) and Senior Captain Mei Kihara (41.5pts). Rounding out the top scorers on the girls side with 30+ points each were sophomore Monica Chen (37.5pts), as well as junior Estelle Seymour and freshman Erin McCormick with 32.5 points each. The boys team was led in scoring by sophomore Miles Chen (50.5), sophomore Eric Yu (46.5) and freshman Jaxon Ersland (43.5). Rounding out the top scorers for the boys with 30+ point were sophomore Thomas Glassmaker (41), junior Jonathan Yang (41), freshman Reid Leeper (36), Senior Captain Jacob Cohen (34) and junior Mukund Rao (30.5). Notable Wins & Event Finishes Girls 200 Medley Relay: 1st - Klinge, Kihara, Huang, McCormick Boys 200 Medley Relay: 1st - Glassmaker, Ersland, Yu, Chen Boys 100 Backstroke: 1st – Yu Girls 400 Free Relay: 1st – Kihara, Seymour, Chen, Klinge This marks the end of the regular season for the girls team, as they turn their focus toward the upcoming Sectional Championships, which will be held at Lafayete Jefferson High School February 5 and 7. Thursday preliminaries start at 5:30 on 2/5, diving preliminaries begin at 9:00 am on Saturday 2/7 and Swimming & Diving Finals begin at 1:00 on Saturday 2/7.
