For the second consecutive week, the girls cross country team dropped a close contest at the Amphitheater to our neighbors to the north - the Harrison Raiders. The Raiders claimed the 2023 City-County title 25-31 over the Red Devils. Senior Henny Schminke extended her Amphitheater winning streak to four meets dating back to last October. Henny covered the 5K course in 19:28 to lead the Red Devils. Freshman Natalie Cuttell cracked 21:00 for the first time to earn fifth place overall. Natalie was the top freshman in the race. Sophomore Charlotte Simpson passed two Raiders over the last 2,000 meters to finish sixth in 21:02. Junior Maddie Boesch continued her strong junior campaign by earning the coveted black ribbon (8th). Senior Shannon Dineen is returning to form and took 11th overall as the final scorer. Senior Bea Cabot had another strong outing at the Amphitheater to earn a ribbon in 14th. Sophomore Alivia Lewis (21st) led the next four Red Devils to finish around 23:00. The girls are back in action on Saturday morning at the Brownsburg Invitational. This will be the team's first look at the 2023 IHSAA Regional course and a handful of the teams competing for a trip to the IHSAA State Finals in October. Full results attached
