Tecumseh gained the upper hand in the second quarter, outscoring West Lafayette to take a 19–12 lead into halftime. West Lafayette came out of the locker room fired up and responded with an impressive third-quarter run, outscoring Tecumseh by 11 to take a 27–22 lead heading into the final period. The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth battle. With under a minute remaining, West Lafayette trailed by six but refused to quit. The team scored quickly, forced a turnover, and capitalized at the free-throw line to cut the deficit to two points. Despite the late surge, time ran out and West Lafayette fell just short, losing by two in a hard-fought championship game. It was a great season with a winning percentage!
