Girls XC earns runner-up finish at Harrison 7-way meet

The girls placed second to the host Raiders at the team's first local meet of the season. Senior Henny Schminke earned her first individual victory of the season in a meet that was delayed one hour due to the heat. Henny covered the 5K course in 20:17. The trio of junior Maddie Boesch (6th), sophomore Charlotte Simpson (7th), and freshman Natalie Cuttell (8th) gave the Red Devils a solid 2-3-4 punch. Senior Shannon Dineen was the fifth and final scorer in 13th overall. Senior Bea Cabot earned the meet's final ribbon in 15th. Sophomore Alivia Lewis was the seventh Red Devil across the finish line in 20th. Alivia then headed up to the Complex to assist in the soccer team's 8-0 victory over Kankakee Valley. The team will be back in action at the Amphitheater on Tuesday, 8/29 for the City-County meet. The girls race is estimated to start at 5:40pm (to follow 5pm boys race).
