Basketball (Boys 7) vs. Benton Central

The West Lafayette 7th grade A team played against the Benton Central Bison. The Red Devils started off hot with 3 threes and a total of 11 points to the Bison's 8. The Devils didn't take their foot off of the gas though as Ben Feldmeyer scored 5 more of his 10 points to give them a 8 point lead going into halftime. Ryne Ehmke had 5 of his game high 12 points in the Devil's 16-2 run in the third quarter. Connor Hollingsworth caused the Bison's offense many problems with 2 of the team's 7 steals. The Devil's finished strong to seal the win 43-20. The West Lafayette B team picked up a solid 35–21 win over Benton Central behind strong rebounding and balanced contributions across the lineup. The Red Devils controlled the glass with 31 rebounds and used steady defensive pressure to pull away. Trip Swanson led the way with 9 points and 9 rebounds, adding 2 steals and setting the tone with his energy on both ends. David Vanderweilen followed with 8 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals, helping run the offense and create scoring opportunities. Ian Gilbert and Niko Harris each scored 6 points, with Harris adding 3 steals. Brayson Gaeta chipped in 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, while several others contributed on the boards, including Luke Dewees with 5 rebounds. West Lafayette forced 12 steals and used its depth and physical play to control the game and secure the victory.
