The Red Devil Swim & Dive teams were on the road at the Waterpalooza Invitational, hosted by Terre Haute South Vigo. The boys team took second in a field of seven teams, while the girls team took fourth in a field of eight teams. The Red Devils were led by a strong crew of freshmen and sophomores with Jayda Huang (FR), Maddie Klinge (FR), and Monica Chen (SO) scoring 44.5, 42.5 and 40.5 respectively. On he boys side, five athletes scored over points each, including sophomore Thomas Glassmaker (50.5), sophomore Miles Chen (49), sophomore Eric Yu (47), freshman Jaxon Ersland (47) and junior Jonathan Yang (44.5). Glassmaker earned the only event win of the day for the Red Devils, taking the top spot in the Boys 100 Backstroke. The Red Devils had several top 3 relay finishes and top 8 individual event finishes, including: Boys 200 Medley Relay: A Relay - 2nd Place by Glassmaker, Ersland, Yu and Chen Girls 200 Freestyle: Klinge, 8th Boys 200 Freestyle: Yu, 3rd; Glassmaker, 5th; Reid Leeper (FR), 6th Girls 200 IM: Huang, 4th Boys 200 IM: Ersland, 5th Boys 50 Freestyle: Chen, 3rd; Chase Jordan (JR), 8th Girls Diving: Ace Tyrrell (JR), 7th Boys Diving: Connor Owens (SO), 3rd; Max Kean (JR), 4th Girls 100 Butterfly: Huang, 5th; Chen, 6th Boys 100 Butterfly: Yu, 5th; Leeper, 8th Boys 100 Freestyle: Chen, 3rd Girls 500 Freestyle: Seymour, 4th; Natalie Cutell (JR), 5th Boys 500 Freestyle: Mukund Rao (JR), 6th Boys 200 Free Relay: B Relay - 2nd Place by Yu, Ersland, Yang and Chen Girls 100 Backstroke: Klinge, 3rd; Chen, 6th Boys 100 Backstroke: Glassmaker, 1st Boys 100 Breaststroke: Ersland, 3rd; Yang, 6th Boys 400 Freestyle: A Relay - 3rd Place by Glassmaker, Leeper, Jacob Cohen (SR Captain), Yang The team earned 22 new lifetime best results to end the new year!
