8th Grade A & B Team Basketball vs. Central Catholic Date: December 15, 2025 Location: Central Catholic A Team Recap: The 8th Grade A Team faced Central Catholic on the road and battled through a tough first half. Central Catholic jumped out to an early lead, ending the first quarter ahead 14–9. At halftime, West Lafayette trailed by seven with the score at 24–17. West Lafayette responded in a big way in the second half, turning up the defensive intensity and holding Central Catholic to just four points. The offense followed suit, scoring 20 points in the half to complete the comeback. West Lafayette finished strong, winning the game 37–28. B Team Recap: The B Team controlled the game from the opening tip, leading throughout the contest. West Lafayette outscored Central Catholic by 10 points in the first quarter and held a 16–12 advantage at halftime. The Red Devils maintained their pace in the second half and secured a 36–24 victory. Tommy Cavanaugh led the way offensively, connecting on four three-pointers and finishing with a season-high 16 points.
