West Lafayette Jr-Sr High School

The West Lafayette 7th Grade A team won easily 44-8 on Tuesday night against the 7th Grade Wainwright A team. Seven different Red Devils contributed to the final 44 points, with Ryne Emke leading the way with 15. Jack Strode was the next highest scorer with 7 while Kohen Morlan, Kendall Williamson and Ben Feldmeyer each had 6 points a piece. Parker Strode and Hank Andrew played unselfishly during the game tallying 5 and 3 assists. West Lafayette also out-rebounded their opponent 21 to 5. Morlan led the rebounding with 6 boards of his own. The Red Devils played stifling defense, not allowing Wainwright any easy buckets all night. West Lafayette B team stay perfect and roll to a 31–10 win over Wainwright B behind dominant defense and strong contributions across the lineup. Trip Swanson led all scorers with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 steals, putting together one of his best all-around performances of the season. Auggie Chang added 8 points, 2 assists, and 3 steals, while Ian Gilbert chipped in 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. David Vanderweilen also played a key role with 3 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. The Red Devils forced 14 steals and controlled the boards with 24 rebounds, using their pressure defense and hustle plays to secure the decisive victory. West Lafayette comes back home on Thursday to face what will surely be a tough Battle Ground Middle School team.
