The Red Devils opened their season with a win, taking down county rival McCutcheon 72–52. Senior Drew Whitlock got things rolling early, dropping 19 points and knocking down 5 of 9 from beyond the arc. Sophomore Jaece Vogt took over from there, leading all scorers with 20. Senior guard Ben Werth kept the offense flowing adding 16 points and a team-high 4 assists. The Red Devils controlled the boards 35–27. Junior Henry Umulis anchored the effort with 10 rebounds while sophomore Calvin Snyder battled for 9 of his own.
