An Epic win! An Epic game! An Epic finish! There really isn’t any other way to describe it. West Lafayette defeated Evansville Memorial 47-42 to win the 2018 Class 3A State Championship on Saturday in Lucas Oil Stadium. QB Kyle Adams threw for 466 yards and 4 TD’s. RB Sage Hood ran 33 times for 133 yards and 3 TD’s. WR’s Spencer Blankman, Kyle Hazell, Harrison Truitt, and RJ Erb combined for 461 receiving yards. LB Yannie Karlaftis and DE Tavion Woodard led the WL Defense with 12 and 8 tackles. Woodard had the play of the game when he sacked EM QB Michael Lindauer for a 15-yard loss with time running out on the Tigers. A total of 19 Class 3A state records were broken by both teams.

West Lafayette finishes 15-0 for the second time in school history and have now won three State Championships – 1993, 2009, 2018. This weekend was also the 25th anniversary of the 1993 State Championship.
