The West Side JV Boys basketball team got off to a slow start at Lebanon on Saturday night, February 2. A 35 minute bus delay prevented a proper warm up, and the boys struggled early. They scored just 2 points in the first quarter and missed all of their three-point attempts in the first half. But starting in the second quarter, they got hot in the paint. Connor Blankman’s speed was too much for the Tigers, and his drives opened things up for his teammates. Blankman finished with 12 points and 3 assists. Jake Wright heated up in the second half and made three from beyond the arc to end with 9 points and just 1 turnover. Divine Adeyanju was a force on both ends. He had 10 points, 19 rebounds (8 offensive), 7 blocked shots and 3 assists. Jordan Krintz had 5 points and 6 rebounds while playing just 2 quarters.
The win improved the Red Devils’ record to 11-9, guaranteeing a winning season with 1 game left.
