Girls Varsity Cross Country · Girls XC finishes 3rd at IHSAA State meet, ties second best finish in school history

The girls earned a coveted spot on the podium with a third place finish at the IHSAA State finals at the Lavern Gibson Championship XC Course in Terre Haute.

Seniors Ellie Tate (12th), Emma Tate (18th) and Mary Schultz (22nd) led the way, each earning All-State honors. Freshman Alli Steffey finished 68th and was the tenth freshman in the race. Sophomore Haley Mansfield was the final scorer and sealed the podium finish in 130th. Not far behind, sophomore Amelia Simpson finished in 138th. In her first race back from an injury, junior Caroline Jordan was the final Red Devil across the line in 192nd.

The senior trio of Ellie Tate, Emma Tate, and Mary Schultz made the Indiana All-Star Team and will compete against the top seniors from Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan on 11/17 in the Mideast Meet of Champions. More info: http://www.mideastxc.com/
