West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 15-5 loss to Lafayette Jefferson on Monday. Lafayette Jefferson scored on a home run by Emilee Cox, a single by Brittney Locker, a walk by Kattey Pass, and a passed ball during Ashlynn McTagertt’s at bat in the first inning.

The West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Lafayette Jefferson, giving up 15 runs.

West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity notched four runs in the third inning. West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity big bats were led by Paige Hilleboe and Caroline Parker, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Lafayette Jefferson scored six runs in the third inning. Madison Seef, Kaylie Adams, Mary Jones, and Rosie Mason all drove in runs in the frame.

Maddie McCoy led things off on the hill for Lafayette Jefferson. She lasted two innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out one and walking one.

Maddie MacDonald started the game for West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity. She went three innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits. Hilleboe and Anna Steffey entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and one-third innings and one-third of an inning respectively.

Hannah Kidwell led West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

Lafayette Jefferson totaled 11 hits in the game. NiVonne Allen, Mason, and Cox each managed multiple hits for Lafayette Jefferson. Allen went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lafayette Jefferson in hits.
