It was a tough day on Friday for West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity, who lost 24-0 to Hamilton Heights
A single by Grace Kirchner in the fourth inning was a positive for West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity.
Adyson Baber led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Hamilton Heights. She lasted five innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out seven.
Maddie MacDonald was in the circle for West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity. She surrendered six runs on four hits over one and one-third innings. Paige Hilleboe and Anna Steffey entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings and one and one-third innings respectively.
Kirchner went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity in hits.
Hamilton Heights scattered 19 hits in the game. Taylor Ewing, Hayley Greene, Bayleigh Runner, Jesse Nomdo, Aliyah Dorsey, and Jessica Kaurich each racked up multiple hits for Hamilton Heights. Ewing led Hamilton Heights with five hits in six at bats. Hamilton Heights was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kaurich had the most chances in the field with eight. Hamilton Heights tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Runner led the way with three.
