West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 14-4 loss to Delphi Community on Thursday. Delphi Community scored on a double by Aspen Riley and an error in the first inning.

Delphi Community got things moving in the first inning. Riley drove in one when she doubled.
Delphi Community scored five runs in the sixth inning. Delphi Community’s big inning was driven by a single by Alexis Cripe, a fielder’s choice by Korynn Kinnaird, and an error on a ball put in play by Kayleen Stanley.
Riley led things off on the hill for Delphi Community. She surrendered two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out one and walking one.
Maddie MacDonald toed the rubber for West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity. She went one and one-third innings, allowing eight runs on six hits, striking out one and walking zero. Paige Hilleboe threw four innings out of the bullpen.
Abby Rhodes led West Lafayette Red Devils Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
Lillie Smith went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Delphi Community in hits.
