Boys Varsity Cross Country · Boys XC finishes close 2nd to Harrison at Sectional

The boys ran well but were ultimately one point shy of cross-town rival Harrison and the 2019 IHSAA Sectional championship. Senior Alec Meister led the way with a second place finish in a new PR of 16:19. Freshman Elijah Stenberg and senior Tyler Milam finished 6th and 8th in times near their personal best. Seniors Sam Hyde and Gavin Redman both set new PRs en route to 9th and 12th place finishes. The top five Red Devils earned All-Sectional honors by placing in the top 20 in the race. Senior Thomas Morgan (22nd) and freshman Jacob Wright (26th) competed well and also set new PRs.

With their Sectional runner-up finish, the boys advance to the Benton Central regional (new location) next Saturday. The boys race will begin at 10:30 a.m.
