The Red Devils “Opened the new pool” in style on Tuesday evening. The pool was full of new and veteran aquatics fans, and all 3 teams channeled the fans’ enthusiasm for great dives and fast times. Every event winner set a new Pool Record for their event (mostly because this was the pool’s first event, BUT there were several stellar performances)!

The diving was events were split, with the Red Devil Boys finished first and second and the Girls finishing 2nd and 4th. In the girls swimming events, two young high school girls were victorious in a total of 3 individual events, and they were joined by a couple of West Side divers on the swimming relays. What a treat that was! For the boys swimming, West Lafayette won 11 of the 12 events, and they finished 1st and 2nd in 10 events. Young and old team members, alike, were firing on all cylinders for the opening night competition.

Individual events winners: Lily Baumgardner (1 individual event victory), Ryan Knipp (2), Anja Owens (2), Christian Gutwein (2), Jeremy Knipp (1), Ben Wassgren (1), Brayden Wrede (1), William LaCount (1)
