West Lafayette 8th Grade Boys returned to action after a long holiday break and halted a three game losing skid by defeating Roosevelt, 52-23. The Red Devils started slow missing several early layups but used hot 3 point shooting from Niko Rhoumbakis and Grant Bauman combined with solid team defense to pull away. The 3rd quarter was key in the victory as RDP out scored the Indians 19-0.

Niko Rhoumbakis broke out of a mild shooting slump and scored 20 points with six 3 pointers leading all scorers. Jackson Fry and Cooper Kitchel each had 8 points, Carson Kitchel and Liam Burton each had 6 points, Bauman added 3, and Albert Rajwa had 1. Donovan Loudermill distributed the ball well and had several key assists in the victory.

In the nightcap, West Lafayette 8B beat Twin Lakes 31-23. West Lafayette jumped to an 11-0 first quarter lead, but Twin Lakes closed the gap to 17-8 by halftime. Mason Follis led the Red Devils in scoring with 10 points, Freddie Cason had 6, Yale Han had 5, Cameron Green and Camden Proctor each had 3 points, and Albert Rajwa had 2. Tye Maxson, Karsten Sandberg, Brendan Bankhead, and Raunak Dani all contributed with solid defense and key rebounds in the victory.

The Red Devils wrap up their season with the City Tourney this weekend.
