It was a great week for WL softball picking up three wins in three days. Senior pitcher Anna Steffey pitched three complete games and was well supported by great offensive efforts each night with the Red Devils putting up 32 hits on the week.
The week started with a come from behind victory over cross-town rival Lafayette Jeff. Heading into the bottom of the fifth inning down 4-2, West Lafayette put up 6 runs on 7 hits and would never surrender the lead. Freshmen Ana Rakita, Adrianne Tolen, and Ashlynn Duffy all had multiple hit games to lead the Red Devil offense.
Tuesday night featured an intense match up on the road at Delphi with the defensive chops of Sarah Bailey and Adrianne Tolen stealing the show in the bottom of the seventh. With the winning run at the plate for the Oracles, the Red Devil defense got out of the jam with an incredible throw from centerfield to the plate followed by a Sportscenter highlight style diving play by Tolen to end the game. Tolen and Bailey paced the offense with two hits a piece.
West Side closed out the perfect week on Wednesday night, visiting conference rival Central Catholic. After surrendering five runs during a rainy second inning, it was all West Side from there. The Devils put up five hits and showed great discipline at the plate to put up a five spot of their own in the top of the third. Adding in two runs each in the fourth and sixth, West Lafayette once against showed off their offensive firepower with 12 hits on the night. Adrianne Tolen continued a great week at the plate with four hits, Duffy, Bailey, and Emily Peyton also tallied multiple hits on the night.  Peyton and senior Adeline Park pitched in multiple RBIs.
West Lafayette hosts conference rival Benton Central on Tuesday and heads to Monticello for a conference showdown with Twin Lakes on Wednesday. Friday and Saturday, the Red Devils will play in the Twin Lakes Invitational.
