I don’t think any of us expected the final score to be 56-10. We had a lot of respect for the Defense that Andrean was bringing to town. They were fast, aggressive, and physical. We have an attacking Defense at WL, but Andrean’s Defense, at least statistically, appeared to be more impressive. Fast starts have been a staple of both our season and our program. Friday night was no different. We try to stay away from mentioning players specifically because Football is the ultimate team sport. However, it’s hard not to mention JR RB Sage Hood, SR QB Luke Touloukian, and our entire offensive line of Tommy Kirschbaum, Seif Benjemia, August Schott, Sebastian Trent, and Aidan Sturgeon. Those guys put on a show Friday night. It’s one thing to be big up front because we have been big before. It’s another to be big and play with a nasty edge. That’s what our front five have done the past 10 weeks. They open up great running lanes for Luke and Sage. When you give those guys space they are going to make opposing defenses pay. Luke started off with an impressive run in our first series and Sage took over from there. Hood finished the game with close to 200 yards rushing and 5 TD. Touloukian added another 100+ yards rushing and 150 yards passing. On Defense we did what we have been doing. Not giving up the big play and forcing teams to drive the ball down the field. Andrean runs a similar offense as us. They had a large line and Division 1 RB. Many of his yards came in the 4Q. When Andrean did move the ball we were able to come up with big plays or simply keep them out of the end zone. The goal each week in the playoffs is to be 1-0. We accomplished that goal last week. Now another week where we want to be 1-0. Our players are hungry and we will work hard to prepare for our week #13 opponent.
